Great Wolf Lodge with the Terrys

Luke and Aiden reunited once again in Dallas, TX at Great Wolf Lodge.

We went for a quick swim on Friday when we got there - and then this is the party in the hotel room that night.  They were in no hurry to go to bed...

Luke is a different kid when he's with Aiden.  He just sort of comes alive.  When he started dancing and doing the robot - Joey and I just looked at each other like "who is this kid?".  We've never seen him do that before.  And he's just so extremely happy.  Which in turn makes me happy.

ADDIE!!

Super creepy show with admittedly catchy tunes about how there is nothing scary in nature. "there's nothing to be scared of here"  uh... maybe not the best message for kids.  There are plenty of things to be scared of in nature... like... hmm, wolves for example.  And there was some song about listening to the heartbeat of mother nature.  Which Joey pointed out was maybe just a little ironic seeing how Great Wolf Lodge is the epitome of American excess and there is nothing green about these beautiful monstrosities that they build across the nation.  But, hey - we enjoyed this crazy place as much as the next guy.  just saying.

"Hey kids, if you see us in the wild, come give us a big hug!"

Joey and I got to go on a mini date (thanks to the Terrys) and went on all the super fun slides our kids couldn't go on.  My favorite was the howling tornado that was pitch black and then had a huge unexpected drop.  That one was behind all this stuff and actually shot you outside into a funnel that swirled you around.  Luke got to go a on few big slides and loved the wave pool.  And the little girls like the kiddie section and the hot tub.

A few stops on the drive home (when we planned this trip we thought the drive was about 5.5 hours and it was actually 7.5 hours.  whoops.  And with stops ended up being about 9.)

It was good family fun though.  And Joey had nowhere to go so I got to talk to him for hours!  bwahaha.
