a day at the zoo

we have lots of these.  but this one was special because it was our first one with our wilsons.  we sure love them - have we mentioned that?  we LOVE that they live close.  it is a dream come true.

The new dinosaur exhibit ---

digging for fossils

don't worry - luke says the triceratops just got a little scratch and is just sleeping because she is worn out from wrestling with the t-rex.

The monkeys---

{These next pictures are taken by Kate.  even though she had my not-so-great camera - she still managed to take cool pictures.}

playing with the sea lions
 The zoo's teton trek (inspired by yellowstone national park) has a geyser at the entrance that sprays water 30 feet high.  This was probably the highlight for these squealing cousins.

Then the kids took turns taking pictures.

Such a very fun day.  These are some good peeps.

such fun! let's go again soon! we bought a refillable slurpee cup last time sos we can get cheap slurpees now to share when we go! if that's not enough motivation for ya, i don't know what is. :)

i need to get some of those pictures from you, they turned out so fun.

Every story has a beginning...

Joey and Katie first met in Mr. Hawkes 3rd grade class at Valley Elementary. They became good friends in Jr. High and best friends in High School. Katie wrote to Joey on his mission in Tiajuana and Joey wrote to Katie later on her mission in Tokyo. Years later at the ripe old age of 25, these best friends finally fell in love... or maybe just realized they were already in love. They got married on January 22, 2004.

happy kids
