1. He has been taking gymnastics for a few months and when I came to pick him up a couple weeks ago - he was covered in blood. His coach said he just kneed himself in the face when he was trying a flip. We cleaned it off his face but there were still a few manly blood stains on his shirt -
2. Last Saturday he did a triathlon that Bartlett Rec Center puts on called the Small Fri Tri. He did great.

The "swim"
Breathing hard. How was it Luke? "Well, I saw that there was just a little bit of guys in
front of me so I thought there must be lots of guys behind me!"
Receiving his medal. He has slept in it and worn it to school and showed everyone he passed. He was so happy and proud.
3. His last feat of bravery was our most recent boating trip where he tried waterskiing for the first time!!! The two clips we got were his first time and his third time.

And Malan and Jane did awesome! They actually both got up multiple times and skied for 3 and 4 minutes at a time. It was amazing!! I will let Kate post their videos. All of us were so proud of these little skiers!! Amanda Cremeans was there too - holding babies, taking video and cheering for the kiddos. Here's Josh taking the helm and Malan getting up for her second time.
And some random Maryanne footage. singing with Amanda and eating chips.

It was definitely a memorable day.... good and bad. The beginning we had some boat troubles. And at the very end of the day I skied back to the beach in a lightening storm and then when we got back to the beach our canopy had been blown and was upside down and broken. And we cleaned up all the chairs, towels and food in the POURING rain and were basically hiking up a mud slide. The kids were all crying as we were sliding around in the mud, Felt a little bit like pioneers. So a stormy end to the exciting day of watching the kids learn how to ski. Nothing a little hot pizza and bread sticks couldn't fix.

oh man i love luke's comment! and all your pictures are so great! some definite framers there! the boating was awesome and i thought the rain at the end was so cool and memorable. one of my favorite parts of the day, actually. my #1 favorite part was that you didn't get hit by lightning.
Very brave little boy. And I love that there were "probably lots of guys behind him".
That's so exciting that Luke got up on water skis. What a stud.
Yay for little caesars! Wow! It's so awesome our cousins are doing such brave things! Wish we were there!
What a blast! When y'll move here we need to go in on a pontoon speed boat that holds 25 and do this on our beautiful lake! I LOVED the small fri tri idea. So great Luke did! Very good memories! Good for Jane and Malan too!
Way to go, Luke! I couldn't ride a bike at his age! Or waterski. Way to go Malan and Jane! And Maryanne, is that dried mango?
