Disney World - Luke's Top 10

1. First day excitement
driving to the park - Luke shows his excitment by busting a move.

2. Brigham
The first time Luke saw his Utah family he walked up to Uncle Casey and said, "where is that guy that I wanna punch?"  Uncle Casey wasn't sure who he was talking about but apparently it was Brigham.  Because Luke wrestled with him the rest of the day.  Brigham (and Tanner and Gabe too) was so cool with Luke.  He listened to everything he said and rough housed just like a young boy needs.  We were walking along with him and I heard Luke say "Brigham, you are my favorite cousin."  I would love for Luke to grow up like the McKay boys.  We need to make sure he gets lots of McKay boy time in his impressionable years.

3. Finding Shells on Nature Walk on Sunday
I love these pictures.  It was just a little path close to where we were staying. Jane probably had the most shells of any kid.  She had multiple adults stowing them for her.  It was so fun for these kids to dig for treasure - they especially loved getting one that was hard to get.

4.  His gun

Every park does parents a huge disservice by dumping you and your children into a gift shop after every ride.  Of course these shops are laden with every awesome toy your child has ever wanted.  So, it's always a battle to get out without a meltdown.  Finally, Joey told Luke he could have $20 for the whole week and he'd have to decide what to spend it on.  Well, since he's five and hasn't learned about delayed gratification yet, he bought the first thing he saw - a jurassic park machine gun.  He loves it though and it was nice that he knew he was done for the week.   He'd still see things but he'd say, "oh, I want that but I already spent my money"  and then leave it alone.   And on this night, when asked what his favorite thing from the day was - he said, "that I buyded this gun".

5. The Mystic Fountain (Universal Studios)
Out of all the amazing rides at Universal Studios - the kids came home talking about the mystic fountain the most.  They were so enamored by it that he finally had to squirt them all away.  They squealed in shock and delight (thus the wet Luke in the second pic).  I feel like that would be a pretty fun job.

6.  Meeting the princesses
Seriously.  I think Lucy was speechless and in awe because she just stared at the princesses and held out her little book for them to sign - but not Luke.  He told them every single thought he had in his head.  Those nice princesses with their squeaky little voices listened and responded to all Luke had to say until we finally had to usher him out so someone else could have a turn.  As we were leaving, Luke said, "Those princesses were SOOO pretty!"  That night as we were driving home, we asked the kids what their favorite things were.  Lucy said hers was the ride Under the Sea.  Luke said dreamily, "meeting those pretty princesses"

My two favorites were Snow White because she really did have the most perfect squeaky voice and acted just like Snow White and my other favorite was Rapunzel because she was a little more rowdy and funny -- I guess like in the movie.

7. Dinosaur Boneyard Dig (animal kingdom)

8, 9 &10.  Jedi Training Academy
cause it was that cool

enter: badguys

Luke is the first to volunteer to fight darth vader

duck!

that's a happy kid

in the video he's the second from the right during.  and we only got half of his fighting sequence.  too bad because he got quite the cheer when he started from all the mckays.

Those McKay boys are stellar. I pretty much want them all to marry my girls. (I guess we'll have to check with them first, though.)

I loved the talking fountain. I've never seen that or even heard of it before. It's so fun and I agree that it would be a fun job.

Also, great videos. I enjoyed watching them.

My Blog List

Every story has a beginning...

Joey and Katie first met in Mr. Hawkes 3rd grade class at Valley Elementary. They became good friends in Jr. High and best friends in High School. Katie wrote to Joey on his mission in Tiajuana and Joey wrote to Katie later on her mission in Tokyo. Years later at the ripe old age of 25, these best friends finally fell in love... or maybe just realized they were already in love. They got married on January 22, 2004.

happy kids
