getting schooled
Luke just started "real preschool" at the local high school. It is such a big beautiful important looking building, I think Luke feels very grown-up going to school there. Especially since some of his babysitters go to the same school. He started so late because the teacher had a c-section and was just returning to school. So, after all the waiting and counting down the days - he is officially a preschool student.

Getting to school, hanging up his backpack, greeted by his teacher Ms. Amber.
So, this preschool has a teacher and 10-15 "helpers", which are high school students. He loves the helpers and seems very happy every time I pick him up. I asked him how his first day went and he told me that he sat by a girl name Rian who laughed at everything he said and thought he was really funny. He has a sparkle in his eye and then said, "she laughed so hard that the school fell down!" I said, "Oh but it looked ok when I picked you up...?" "Oh, yeah, that is because they just hurried and built it back up before you got there... This is a REAL story mom." He comes home with new songs and skills and experiences. It's a strange and exciting feeling knowing your kid is having their own little life without you. I really like laying in bed with him at night and hearing his preschool adventure stories.
Oh and Luke was in a co-op preschool for 2 years that was never documented. It was a blast - with Charlotte, Max and Halle. Here is maybe the only picture I have of that little group.
Lucy started her little preschool co-op too with Olivia and Alex. She was meant to do school. All the crafty things and coloring that couldn't hold Luke's attention at that age - she loves. And of course, anything with Olivia means it's the coolest thing in the world. And there couldn't be better teachers than Kate and Sheri. I'm so happy that Lucy gets to spend a couple creative, enriching hours with these moms every week.

Every story has a beginning...
Joey and Katie first met in Mr. Hawkes 3rd grade class at Valley Elementary. They became good friends in Jr. High and best friends in High School. Katie wrote to Joey on his mission in Tiajuana and Joey wrote to Katie later on her mission in Tokyo. Years later at the ripe old age of 25, these best friends finally fell in love... or maybe just realized they were already in love. They got married on January 22, 2004.
