Meet Me in St. Louis Louis...

These are our friends the Welshes who now live in St. Louis

We took a little weekend trip to see them and we visited Six Flags St. Louis where Luke rode his first roller coaster. We had to fluff up his hair a bit to try to pull off the 42". He's actually just under 41". He rode "River King Mine Train" which was pretty fast, scary and jerky but he absolutely loved it. That kid is an adrenaline junkie.

Here we are eating our delicious $44 pizza. (I can just see them coming up with these prices, nodding in agreement..."yeah, that seems fair...")

We also visited the St. Louis Science Center

And on the drive home stopped at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, MO where they throw rolls at you. A combination of two of Luke's favorite things - rolls and throwing - so he was liking that place.

It was so fun to see our friends and we liked St. Louis. And like we do at the end of every long road trip with our kids we said - let's not do that again for a while.

Good on Luke! My parents took Jon on a loop-da-loop roller coaster at Hershey's Park when he was two, and it scarred him for life. (Or at least until he grew up. He goes on rollercoasters now.)

Also, I want someone to throw a roll at me.

Luke is only 2 inches shorter than Ellie. Does that seem like a crazy fact? We had Lagoon passes this summer and you can ride almost everything once you are 46 inches. Poor Ellie, at 43, has been very patient. I took her on the Rock-o-planes though and locked us upside down. She really screamed and told me not to do that again. Then she begged to go back on it the rest of the day. This is a long comment. What I really wanted to say is that I hope you really loved that $44 pizza. Gives new meaning to "Fair Food" eh? Did you sing "Ding ding ding went the trolley" a lot while you were there?

We always wanted to do St. Louis and we never did. Looks like you did it up right!

Every story has a beginning...

Joey and Katie first met in Mr. Hawkes 3rd grade class at Valley Elementary. They became good friends in Jr. High and best friends in High School. Katie wrote to Joey on his mission in Tiajuana and Joey wrote to Katie later on her mission in Tokyo. Years later at the ripe old age of 25, these best friends finally fell in love... or maybe just realized they were already in love. They got married on January 22, 2004.

happy kids
