It's a girl!!!

Doesn't our baby look like she's laughing so hard with her mouth wide open and her hand on her forehead?? She's laughing because she knows how tricky she's being in making us wait FOREVER to find out that she's a girl. That little sneak. I laid on that ultrasound table for over an hour. (it's ok though cause in that office at least they warm the gel before they squirt on your belly over and over - fancy huh?)
As I laid there today and looked up at the big screen, I realized how I've been taking it for granted that I'm pregnant. Yeah, yeah - I'm pregnant, I'm tired, I'm sick, I'm getting big etc. But it's when you see this little life inside of you with her heart beating fast, her mouth opening and closing, her perfect spine and brain that are healthy - you realize what a miracle this is. Here she's been doing all this amazing developing and all her needs are met and I really haven't done a thing. She's just a real and perfect little being inside of me. Joey even rescheduled his patients so he could be there and I loved that. We are so excited. A little girl!!! Wow.

Pink mashed potatoes to celebrate

Pink rice crispy treats, pink smoothies and a sparkler to celebrate some more.

Today was a good day.

That plate of stuff looks way gross after all your talk of fetal development. I'm just sayin'.
Hooray for Ruby! Or Mercy. Or Pollyana. Or whatevah!
How about Dityliou? That's the word verification of the moment.

Hooray! Cute little thing. I think it was only this year that I really understood how much babies are moving around inside their mothers (not from personal experience - just talking to friends). It's very cool.

P.S. Please don't name your daughter Squerkyp. That's my word verification.

I'm the most excited about this. I wanted you to have a girl. It's the perfect thing to do after having a boy. I kept my computer on waiting all day for you to post this news. Can you imagine a girl as darling as Luke? A girl version of Luke will be stunning! She'll be able to grow out those golden locks and really get some mileage out of those amazing lashes and beautiful brown eyes.
Oh, I'm so excited! You two manufacture beautiful children.

sorry about the gross picture of the potatoes. but - they were actually delish. they are juli's creation (minus the red food coloring) in her slow cooker magazine. mashed potatoes and turnips. i highly recommend them (again, minus the red food coloring) sorry for the accidental unsettling of some of you. woopsie.

Congrats!! Girls are fun, fun. And they are funny and like to dress up and like to be dramatic and are super sweet. Very fun to dress them up. I think you should name her Soleil or Graciella. I think Jake would like that, no?

victoria said...

This word verification is: Aburbo. That would be a very onomatopoetic name.

Congrats!!!! That is so much fun! Just dont stop just because you have one of each. Youre going to have so much fun dressing her up =)

Yippeee!! If our little girl doesn't meet your qualifications for Luke then your little girl has Jackson or Tanner to choose from. One of them has to be acceptable right?? We will tie you down one way or another! J/K!! Congrats, we're excited for you!!

That baby looks like she is doing a fist pump and saying Yes! That was probably also your response. Congrats guys.

Congrats on the baby girl! You will have a lot of fun with her and I know that Luke will be a great big brother. Also, it looks like you guys had a great trip out west. I remember you telling me that the movie Dan in Real Life reminded you of your family and it looks like you speak the truth. :). You are such a fun family. We miss you and are glad you are doing well.

Hey Katie! Congratulations!! Wow - a sweet baby girl!!! I am SOO excited and happy for you guys!! It is so fun catching up on your blog - I loved your fun 'it's a girl' celebration you and Joey had... you two are so cute! :) Congrats again!! Hope you're feeling okay... :) So, when are you due?!

Every story has a beginning...

Joey and Katie first met in Mr. Hawkes 3rd grade class at Valley Elementary. They became good friends in Jr. High and best friends in High School. Katie wrote to Joey on his mission in Tiajuana and Joey wrote to Katie later on her mission in Tokyo. Years later at the ripe old age of 25, these best friends finally fell in love... or maybe just realized they were already in love. They got married on January 22, 2004.

happy kids
