turtley

We found a new friend on road and he looked like he really wanted to hang out with us for the day

(i think he looks like master oogway from kung fu panda - he probably gets that a lot.)

so we took him disc golfing with us

and let him watch a few movies

and just hung out with him

Until we had to say good-bye and send him back to his family.  We miss you turtley.  (so aptly named by Luke. Come to think of it, he WAS kinda turtley)

Hey! What about Uncle Jakely we see in the pics? Do tell? It looks warm and steamy there. So love Memphis. And you guys too.

You just don't pick up pets like that off the lawns around here. What a good friend for a day.

You do just pick up pets off the lawn around here if they are garter snakes. And then your mom makes you wash your hands. A lot.
I love the turtle! Did it bite? So cute and portable.
Do you guys have fireflies in Memphis? Because I have "see fireflies" on my list of things my kids need to do this summer.

Every story has a beginning...

Joey and Katie first met in Mr. Hawkes 3rd grade class at Valley Elementary. They became good friends in Jr. High and best friends in High School. Katie wrote to Joey on his mission in Tiajuana and Joey wrote to Katie later on her mission in Tokyo. Years later at the ripe old age of 25, these best friends finally fell in love... or maybe just realized they were already in love. They got married on January 22, 2004.

happy kids
