And last but not least - a broken face
So, last night I was helping a friend jump her car. I was holding up the heavy hood of my car and somehow dropped it on my face. Who does that? There is fracture in one of my face bones that does weird things like let air through to my eye when I blow my nose. And of course this happens late on Saturday night so I get to go to church looking awesome.

Oh, dear Katie! I am so sorry. Reminds me of the time my dentist (not Joey) blacked both of my eyes trying to pull my retained eye-tooth from up behind my right front incisor. He said I should tell everyone Phil did it.
Oh my word,I am so sorry about your face! That looks super painful! some after-yw broadcast fun, eh?
Happy Birthday to Joey, too.
Katie I've been thinking about you all day! Now I know why! I'm so sorry! I do stuff like that. I just sprained my ankle and I feel so stupid. But really, we're just busy girls. What do they do about a broken bone in the face?! You must be in pain :(.
P.S. I can't believe I've missed 1/2 of Lucy's life! But I can at least claim to be the closest relative that knows her best. We were being sad last night missing you guys.
I was getting ready to say what a fun list of things - then I got to the bottom and that is not fun! Owch, Katie! I hit my head getting into cars all the time. I just forget to duck. But I think you've still got me beat. Oh, so sorry. Well, as far as the fun stuff goes . . . Good walking, Lucy! Fun Leprechany stuff. Happy Joey B-day. I sent him a palindrome, too - Yo, Banana Boy! - did he like it? Here's a great palindrome for ya: "A man, a plan, a canal, Panama." There was a young Meemer in one of those pictures of the YW. Miss you guys.
Ouch! How do you fix a broken face bone? You have a great attitude about it, though. Way to be sunny. :)
Word Verification this time: adahale!
you are SO cool! because: that food for joey's b.day looks so amazing, you do such fun things with your kids, like luke "flying!", and i love that lucy's second day walking is on a sidewalk! no fear! SO sad about your face though! OWIE!! hope it heals quick! if it makes you feel better, air always goes through my eye when i blow my nose. i cleared a path once when my ears were plugged and i blew my nose too hard. if i'm lucky and my eyes are wet, i can even squirt stuff out of my eye that way. :)
ouch! but i still think you look beautimus.
Wowch!! I'm so sorry for your face!
(moment of silence)
In a happier vein, I LOVE the bungee Luke! Why don't we have that at our children's museum?
And can I get the recipe for the shawarmas? They look so yummy. So do the onion rings, but those are currently dead to us.
what I wanted to know was WHAT IS UNDER THE BANDAID??? :)
So sorry about your face, Katie. I'm very impressed with Lucy's persistence on only her second day of walking. Lots of kids would go back to crawling after falling on the sidewalk, but she just pops right back up!
And that is why you should never help a friend jump her car. Just kidding. That eye looks awesome! My kids would be jealous. Some of them claim they would love to have a black eye. (But these are the same children who think it would be fun to be chased by a bear. Weird kids.) Your other March events look fun however. I can't believe Luke wasn't scared to be flung into space like that. He's just happily squealing about how he's flying.
Is it weird that I want to comment to the commenters? Kate: What a hilarious little quirk you have and you didn't even need to break a bone to get it.
Edith: Oh please invite me over when you make the shawarmas
OH OH OH! I feel like you are my kid and i have to see you in pain and that's just not a good thing, kid. Oh dear, lesson learned, right? It's best to face it, you need to go around in an iron lung or something, don't you think? It's for everyone's safety, Kates. think of the children. THINK OF THE CHILDREN
I sure love you and miss you and wanna hug you and kiss you. I can't wait for the day when we get to snuggle together again. Happy Birthday to you, Joes.
Now that you are 30, you shouldn't be jumping cars. Especially with the hood up.
Katie & Joey-
First Happy Birthday to Joey! Second, Katie I hope your face starts feeling better. Third, love Lucy's piggy tails! Fourth, fun date with Luke. Fifth, I tried to make green pancakes on St. Patty's and Will refused to eat them. I thought it was hilarious, I guess he didn't care about being festive.
Ouch! Sorry about your face! Lucy's little strut is so cute! And I love Luke's "I'm flying!"
oh my goodness I miss you so much!
Oh Kates! I am so sorry you broke your face! Thanks for posting or how would we know. Get better!!!
loved seeing Lucy walk and I laughed my head off at the video of Luke trying to get Joey's attention and nothing phased him until he landed on him. So funny. Great Green day and b-day food. I'm dying for those onion rings...one of my favs and those looked particularly good!
