Swept Away

Oh, I'm so romanced. Joey surprised me with a weekend away at the Opryland hotel in Nashville for our 5th Anniversary. He arranged for Luke to stay overnight with the Cresaps (thanks guys) and drove east until we got to the Opryland hotel & resort. I had no idea what I was in for. This place was a conglomeration of atriums, gardens, fountains, waterfalls, rivers, balconies, walkways, gazebos, music, strings of lights, restaurants, riverboats, spas, pools, etc. etc. First we ate on a balcony above a river surrounded by green folliage & bright colored flowers next to a gushing waterfall. This was followed by a riverboat ride under twinkling lights, then a dip in the outdoor whirlpool, a massage, late night eighties dancing & and an enchanted walk along the river. Good job Joey huh? It was the perfect surprise getaway & truly magical. Honestly, I've been completely in love with Joey Hale for as long as I can remember and so it was lovely to take a moment to celebrate it, to relax and feel my heart swell with it.

Happy Anniversary my dear Joey. Thanks for marrying me. You make a fine husband indeed.

Happy Anniversary!
Opryland Hotel is amazing, isn't it?! We sent my parents there for their 25th and they really enjoyed it. I've been to the hotel many times, but never spent the night. Maybe someday . . .

Wow! Happy Anniversary to the two of you. I'm so happy that you got to marry the love of your life. Joey and you are seriously so cute together and I commend him for planning such a great weekend getaway. I'm going to have to convince Justin to take me there someday.

i love you guys. what a dreamy husband you have. remember that sign up in the girls bathroom in the mtc? something about the harder you work on your mission, the better your husband will be. i thought i may have set you back on that one but you must have worked a lot harder after i left. (:

I think key lime pie and chocolate mousse in the wee hours may beat cold pizza for breakfast

Yep, you win!

Every story has a beginning...

Joey and Katie first met in Mr. Hawkes 3rd grade class at Valley Elementary. They became good friends in Jr. High and best friends in High School. Katie wrote to Joey on his mission in Tiajuana and Joey wrote to Katie later on her mission in Tokyo. Years later at the ripe old age of 25, these best friends finally fell in love... or maybe just realized they were already in love. They got married on January 22, 2004.

happy kids
